Turkish Studies Institute was founded in accordance with Ataturk’s ideologies with the aim of contributing to science world with global measures by inspecting the cultural existence of Turkish circle with an interdisciplinary approach; with this purpose carrying out education - instruction, scientific researches and applications at graduate level, cooperating with the similar institutions in homeland and abroad.
Turkish Studies Institute aims to organize according to the  geographical regions where Turkish culture has an effect on and which have a relationship with Turkish culture, investigate the past and present conditions of these regions and share these with the science world, regardless of term distinction, within geographical integrity and in the context of periods of intensive relations with Turks and present relations / problems, departments and programs cover some fields such as; culture, art, language, history, geography, literature, folklore, faith and religion, economics, politics and security.
For all departments and programs, relation and interaction processes which are mostly about Turkish language, history and culture and which have existed and exist among neighbor culture areas have been determined as an investigation subject. Consequently, both a view centered on Turk, and with a holistic approach, global measures on investigated subjects are going to be provided.
Turkish Studies department is present in the institute.
